1.- PARTICIPATION:
All those who have previously signed up may participate.
There will be 4 categories:

KID’S CATEGORY (8 TO 13 YEARS OLD)
LITTLE TOTS (0 TO 7 YEARS OLD)
3.–REGISTRATION:
From May 14th to June 7th 2019, included, at the headquarters of Asociación de Empresarios Zona Comercial Mesa y López, at C / Galicia no. 25, 7ºE, between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Each participant will be granted a contest entry number according to their category, which they must remember, as it will be their identification on the day of the contest, at the time of sealing and delivery of the canvases.
Signing up participants in the Kid’s and Little Tots’ categories must be done by the respective parents or legal guardians, who will be in charge of the minors at all times during the celebration of the event.
4.- CELEBRATION:
The 24th Open Air Quick Painting Contest will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2019, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, as long as the weather conditions allow.
Each participant shall be provided with all the necessary materials to create their piece as well as a plastic tarp to protect the ground floor and urban furniture to be used.
5.- TIME, LOCATION AND MARKING:
On the day of the competition, participating artists must show up at the stand that will be located on the Mesa y López boulevard nearest to Plaza de España, between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning, where the support will be marked and its measurements will be checked. Likewise, participants will be identified and in the case of minors, their respective guardians will be identified as well.
The place where the paintings will be created will necessarily be Avenida Mesa y López. Works that have not been created outdoors and in that area on the designated day will not be allowed in the contest, and the Organisation will make sure that this rule is strictly followed.
For the safety of minors, and to contribute to the Organisation’s controlling measures, a photograph of the minor with their legal companion will be taken and will be destroyed at the end of the contest.
6.- TECHNIQUES AND MEASUREMENTS:
Both the theme and the techniques to create the pieces can be freely chosen, being admitted all pictorial procedures, trends and aesthetic currents.
For overage participants: (adult category)
Each person may mark a single support. The support must be rigid (canvas, paper on board…) and will be presented in white or prepared in a single colour and homogeneous texture. The format shall not exceed 116 x 89 cm, nor less than 61 x 50 cm. In the case of other measurements, the surface proportion shall apply. That is, the cm2 of the support will be a maximum of 10,324 and at least 3,050.
Underage participants: (Little Tots, Kid’s and Teen’s categories):
They will be able to work throughout the morning on a maximum of three supports and with all the materials they have, although they will hand in a single piece to be valued by the jury. Each minor, advised by their parents or legal guardians, will choose the piece that best represents them.
All types of media are supported: papers, canvases, drawing blocks, wood, etc. and the measurements must be between minimum a DIN A4 size (20 × 30 cm) and 116 × 89 cm maximum.
7.- HANDING IN THE PIECES:
From 12:00 to 1:30 pm, Little Tots, Kids and Teens must hand in their pieces
At 3:00 pm, the Adult Contest will end
All contestants must show up with their work finished and signed, at the organisation’s booth to withdraw their exhibition number and be photographed. No work will be collected after 4:00 pm. The works will be exhibited on the Mesa y López boulevard nearest to Plaza de España, with the corresponding participant number assigned to each artist’s easel, so the jury can deliberate, and so the public can enjoy and vote from 4:00 to 5:00 pm until the jury’s decision.
The jury’s decision and award ceremony will take place on the afternoon of the contest day at 6:00 pm.
Once the event is over, the award-winning artists will take their works to “ArteDigital 7 Islas”, at C/ Nestor de la Torre no. 34, where they will deposit the paintings. The award-winning works will become the property of the sponsor who awards each prize.

8.- CARE AND CUSTODY OF THE PIECES:
The contest organisers, as well as all the people who will have to manipulate the paintings, will put all their efforts in the care and custody of the pieces, although the organisation is not liable for any damages they may suffer, given the characteristics of this type of contest.
9.- EXHIBITION:
The exhibition will take place in the “Patio Nestor” of THe Hotel Fataga, at C/ Néstor de la Torre, no. 21, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, from July 12th to September 6th, 2019.
A catalogue will be created, which will include photos of the award-winning pieces.
The winning artists must commit to being present at the exhibition inauguration.
10.- JURY:
The jury nominated by Asociación de Empresarios de Zona Mesa y López will be made up of renowned professionals and personalities of the artistic field, and their names must not be made public until the day of the contest. If the jury deems it appropriate, in addition to the winners, they may give up to three special mentions to painters who will be considered finalists.
11.- OWNERSHIP OF WORKS:
The award-winning works and their reproduction rights become the property of the entity that awards the prize.
Un-awarded works will be removed from the Mesa y López boulevard by their authors or authorised persons, once the prizes are announced.
12.- FINAL BASIS:
Participation in the contest implies the unconditional conformity and acceptance of each and every one of the clauses of these terms by the participant.
Any doubts that may arise in its interpretation will be resolved by Asociación de Empresarios de Zona Mesa y López.
